Shure 300/315 ribbon mic with RCA type ribbon by Mr. Sank!  

Cosmetically it is almost mint- it's beautiful and shiny, it just has a little writing on the badge ("SN #2 "), no big deal. It is better than new under the hood, with a new old stock RCA ribbon by Stephen Sank.

This mic is silver and was a Shure 315, however it has been converted to a Shure 300. The difference is that a Shure 315 has extra heavy cloth lining for close vocals, unfortunately the heavy lining causes a significant drop in the bass response and tames the top end a bit as well. The extra heavy cloth has been removed and replaced with the same cloth as the 300, making this a Shure 300. The Motor, transformer, etc., is exactly the same as the Shure 300. With the incredible sound of the brand new RCA ribbon and the Shure 300 cloth, this mic is incredible.

This mic is a great value as it delivers a quality high-end pro audio sound that is comparable to RCA mics costing up to $2500. This mic sounds very similar to any of our RCA modified Shure 333s or 330s but with a little more of an open sound due to the bidirectional design. Just to be clear, only with the Stephen Sank RCA ribbon modifications do any of the Shure mics really wake up to their potential. It's a beautiful piece, extremely versatile, and right up there with the best of them on everything. You will be delighted to own this wonderful mic!
