The ribbon corrugation tool that we use belonged to Harry Olson, inventor of the 44 and 77 series for RCA. He used it for all of his personal prototyping. It was gifted to Jon R. Sank and eventually passed on to his son Stephen. 

You can expect your RCA ribbon microphone to sound exactly like it did when it was originally produced. For other microphones, the sound can usually be greatly improved by retrofitting it with an RCA style ribbon. All ribbons are completely hand made to original RCA specifications.
