NEW! MSRP $1599 The Cloud JRS-34 Active Ribbon Microphone was named in memory of Jon R. Sank (1934-1998), and designed by his son Stephen. The story begins in the 1930’s at RCA* with Harry Olson developing the 44 and 77 series ribbon microphones. Mr. Olson was followed in his post by Jon R. Sank. He was charged with improving on Olson’s best mics. He did just that with the BK-11, a direct descendant of the 44 series. Before Jon Sank died in 1998, he passed more than 50 years of technology and skill to his son. Trained by his father beginning at age 10, Stephen’s studies continued to build upon lessons learned from the original RCA Laboratory Studies.
The Cloud JRS-34, with modern appointments such as Cinemag transformers, neodymium magnets, and a phantom powered active circuit, takes the next evolutionary step in the immortal BK-11 and 44 series microphone design line. 100% Made in the USA

Cloud JRS-34 Passive Ribbon Mic

The passive microphone has about 20db less output than the active version and requires a low-noise high-gain preamp, like all passive ribbons. Both come in the beautiful wooden case pictured.

B&O BM1

B&O BM1 ribbon mic with RCA 44bx mod. This is the first model that B&O made, the BM1's are extremely rare and look the same as a BM2, except for a wrinkle finish. They also have a longer ribbon that is the same as a 44bx. With the new RCA style ribbons this mic sounds nearly identical to a classic 44.
